[dsg-hdice] SRS impedance switch

In that case, I’ll add the option in the morning to select the impedance and then let you all know to be able to copy the program to the NMR racks.

There's already a subVI that does this. That was one of the ones I ran when we were testing communications last week.

Hi Xiangdong,

I’ll have to take a look tomorrow morning and make the changes if it is possible.

I think there is a command we can send to the lock in amplifier to set the impedance. If it is possible, I’ll add code to make it so the user has to set the impedance when you start the program.

I’ll let you know tomorrow what I find.

Hi Tyler,

As you probably know that last week we had some issues with the NMR program, which ended up with tweak and tune. Luckily Brian was available to help and we had the NMR going again.

Now I have a new favor to ask: In the last two days, when use fsNMR, we realized that both 1 Mega Ohms and 50 Ohms modes of SR844 input impedance should be used. Is it possible to add a input impedance switch, or not checking it (so it latches on) for the fsNMR VI in a short time? Setting it without walking into the uitf CAVE is preferred.

Please let me know which is quick and easy, since we can only stop for short time to implement the change.

Thanks,

Xiangdong

Hi Brian,

Thank you helping me to solve the NMR controller VI issues on Monday.

I didn't mail you the results yesterday because the testing took a lot longer than I initially planned. I have run several combinations of using different VIs to measure NMR signals sin the fix, and I haven't seen any errors yet. Good job.

The next, I will power down the HDice NMR rack 2 and Oxford IPSs for a UPS swapping. I hope everything is fine after repower the rack.

More test/production runs will be performed.

Thank,

Xiangdong

I think I see what the issue is, but could you give me a call when you get a chance so I can confirm before making any changes.

Basically the old code only sent the GPIB address, which works fine when there is only 1 controller, but now that there are 2 on the computer the string it sends should also include which controller to address.

Brian,

The hdice remote pc logout now. Please proceed.

Thanks,

Brian,

I have been in my office since 8 am, where the signal is not good sometimes. I did got 2 calls without any message, from area code 516, was that yours?

I can call, too,.

Thanks,

Xiangdong

I tried calling your cell, but I'm guessing you don't have service where you are.

I got an error when trying to log in to hdicenmr1 & hdicenmr2 saying that the administrator has limited the number of computers you can log on with when trying to use the hdice account. When I use my own CUE account it says someone is logged on and doing so will disconnect them.

1) Which computer should I connect to? Your email says 1 has problems, but 2 is available.
2) Has the hdice user password changed since Dec 2019 (that is the last password I have). If it has changed I'll try calling again once you have cell service.

Hi Peter, Brian, and the group,

We need your help immediately. The VIs for field sweep NMR, the FRS, and the fsNMR on NMR Rack1 PC are not functioning (They worked before adding to the control of the 2nd IPS) . The VIs for Dual IPS, Main 1 IPS and Main 2 IPS seem working. It seems to me the GPIB settings for the original VIs need to be tweaked. The GPIB address the the 2nd IPS is 28 on GPIB1 bus, not on GPIB0.

Please take a look asap.

The Rack 2 PC is available to you now.

When testing IPS, please make sure the maximum current is equal or below 1 amp and the rate is no more than 3A/m.

Sorry for the short notice, I have no choice now.

If you need to talk you me any time, my cell number is 516-636-1957.

Thanks,

Xiangdong
