So the question is... who is responsible for securing the equipment

Colleagues,

The UIM (Utilities Infrastructure Modernization) electrical work
has begun today with the mobilization of the subcontractor, York
River Electric, onto the CEBAF site.

Over the next 2.25 months, there will be significant disruption
to the electrical grid servicing the Accelerator and End
Stations. Although the contractor has an approved schedule
outlining the work, changes will need to be made to the work
plan as we better understand how to interleave the power outages
with ongoing JLab activities.

The present plan for the Accelerator is to start with outages to
the FEL and GPB Monday morning. All necessary steps should be
taken to protect equipment in these areas in advance of the
power going off.

Work will also begin at the services to CHL1. This work has
minimal impact with this Cryo plant already down for planned
maintenance.

Finally, the third crew will be working either at and around the
NAB Cooling Tower or at the SAB. This is under discussion. Once
a decision is made, adequate time will be given to secure
systems prior to the power going off.

Work updates will be made available via ATLis: UIM
Electrical Distribution Upgrade and the FML Utility Outage
Notification System. There will also be information made
available at the MCC 0800 Meeting.

You can also contact Steve Suhring (x7670) for Accelerator /
Hall D questions. Michele Solaroli (x7751) is the SOTR and
Dianne Owens (x7475) is running interference for Michele and is
also a point of contact.
