Hello:
Since I've been a little difficult to get in touch with lately via
meetings, I thought I'd post a status update on the EG1 inclusive proton
data/analysis note/paper:
I have generated tables using Sebastian's new Models update, and a full
analysis using these values is in progress, and should be done within
days. In order for a final master table of all values of g_1, A_1, g_2,
A_2, and all input values (as well as integrals) to be generated, all I'm
waiting on is for final radiative correction values A_RC and F_RC (which I
can input at the last minute, if needed).
The latest .pdf analysis note version is on the web at
http://www.jlab.org/Hall-B/secure/eg1/EG2000/fersch/softwarenote/AnalysisNote
Modifications requested by the review committee are nearly complete;
please note especially the following new figures requested by the
committee, in order of perceived importance:
p.234 A new plot of elastic asymmetries normalized by their PbPt
values, shown against the predicted elastic asymmetry. I think this would
be a great plot to include in the final paper, since, in a very compact
way, it expresses the entire PbPt analysis for all 11 data sets.
p.241-248 The e+e- correction section has undergone significant rewrites
after some fact checking with Nevzat; better contamination plots of
Nevzat's have been included to replace some less accurate old ones of my
own.
p.293-296 The section on systematic errors for pions and e+e- has
undergone significant improvement, with new plots, as well. (Nevzat,
please proofread this to tell me if it's ok!)
p.264-265 All relevant observables are plotted for 2 different data
sets.
p.108 Pion contamination plots before and after cuts (courtesy of
Nevzat)
p.128-131 New plots showing step-by-step improvements of momentum
corrections on elastic ep events, separated by bins, have been included.
p.103 CC segment cut plots have been regenerated with the final version
of the cuts; these look much better than before.
p.140 The plot showing low-theta momentum corrections for inclusive
electrons has been replaced to show the finalized, improved corrections.
p.83 New simple plot of z-vertex position
WHAT REMAINS TO BE DONE:
1) I need values of QCD models, etc. to place in the plots in the last
chapter for comparison. (This is a big one; these are needed for the
paper...)
2) I was told I that the section in Ch. 1 on the OPE has some issues; I
either need some advice on improving this, or some of it may be ommitted
all together
3) I need to include a list of all variables to be published and improve
the last chapter plots (including fixing a few minor bugs in the
systematic errors). I'm holding off on this until I have final radiative
correction models.
That's all for now; with the last details of this document coming to a
close, we can soon put together the paper itself...
