Dear all,
we continue with another “off-schedule” EG1b meeting tomorrow Thursday, May 14, at the usual time 9:30 a.m.
Since it’s an “off week”, our regular meeting room A110 is booked, so instead we are meeting in L210A. Since this is a somewhat unusual place for us, here are the instructions on how to find it:
If you go up the main staircase and head towards the F-wing....there is a door about halfway down, almost above L102, that is the old Computer Center entrance. Go in those doors. The room is on the right. If it is locked, see Jodi for the key
Of course, call-in instructions are the same as always:
We use the Bluejeans videoconferencing software.
1) For full multi-media access, enter in your web browser (*) the following URL: https://bluejeans.com/7576835804. You will be asked whether you want to login or just join as a participant. Choose "participant" and follow the on-screen instructions (you may be asked to download a browser extension or an app (*) when you use Bluejeans for the first time). You should see images from other participants and hear sound on your computer's loudspeakers. If you have a video camera (built-in or hooked up to your computer), others will be able to see you. You must have a microphone (built in or hooked up to your computer) to communicate. Ideally, you should use headphones (with integrated mike if possible) to reduce feedback; alternatively, you can mute your microphone when you are not talking. There is even an iPhone and Android app if you want to participate by tablet/smartphone… ;-)
(*) Note: Beginning as early as April 1, 2015 (no joke), the Google CHROME browser might stop supporting Bluejeans. You can instead use Firefox, Internet Explorer or Safari, or you can use the expected stand-alone App (for Windows and Mac) which should come out sometime in April. Or you can just use the phone - see below. More information
2) If this sounds all too complex, it is possible to dial in.
The phone nr. is 1-888-240-2560
The meeting ID is 7576835804 (Sebastian's ODU office phone nr). You enter this after the prompt, followed by the "#" sign, and after the 2nd prompt, press "#" again. That's it - you should be able to talk and hear us as usual; however, you won't see video and shared desktop.
- Sebastian
