Hello Everyone,
Before out meeting tomorrow I just wanted send out some more quantitative info on luminosities and polarization.
The latter is very straightforward. In the EIC the number of snakes has been increased so that the 70% polarization at injection can be maintained regardless of energy (or ion species - it is the same for He-3 as for the proton)
For luminosity, we have the following
18x275 1.54e33
10x275 10.0e33
5x275 8.2e33
10x100 4.48e33
5x100 3.68e33
5x41 0.44e33
There is also a low-luminosity large beta*, but this is meant for IR6 without a second focus. In IR8 the hope it to use the two doublets to reduce beta* at low energy to improve the 5x41 luminosity by a factor of 2-3, putting it closer to 18x275, but still remaining at the bottom of the list.
Cheers,
Pawel
