Dear all,
==> This is a reminder of our joint meeting of the exclusive processes
and the semi-inclusive processes at *JLEIC preferred energies* (sqrt(s)=
20 - 60..80 GEV ?).
As there may be need for input from the accelerator/interaction region
side I cc'ed Andrei and Todd.
==> If you like to present some results of simulations for physics
processes, or you want to bring up other topics, please prepare some
slides.
==> The other main topic will be to review the outcome of the YR Temple
meeting last week, and what we may conclude on how to proceed with our
studies to better define the performance parameters of the detector
(related to the "2nd IR") that we need to specify as input for the YR
effort, and in preparation for the Pavia YR meeting in May. As a series
of simulations have been done (even so not completed yet) we should try
narrow down some of the requirements on momentum/energy resolution,
particle id requirements for the different polar angle (pseudorapidity)
ranges as they are defined in the Detector Handbook table (attachments).
If you can, please address (some of) these questions:
1) Are there constraints on the *momentum/energy resolution* for any of
the pseudorapidity ranges defined in the table.
2) Are there constraints on the*resolution**in polar angle or azimuth
angle *for any of the pseudorapidity ranges defined in the table.
3) Are there constraints on *charged particle identification* (pions,
kaons, protons) versus momentum range?
4) Are their constraints on electromagnetic *calorimetry granularity *in
order to separate single photons from pi0 decay photons?
5) What are the *energy resolution requirements for electromagnetic
calorimetry* versus pseudorapidity?
6) Is *hadronic calorimetry* needed and in what ranges?
7) Are there any requirements on *transverse vertex resolution*,
especially for decaying particles.
8) others
I realize it is short notice, but please try to do your best to have
some answers (even if preliminary).
As needed, please coordinate with Anselm, Charles, and myself.
Best regards,
Volker
