Did you all get a chance to look at this? Thanks.

Can you please check which of these times work for me & Vadim? Need an hour at least. Thanks.

Subject: [EXTERNAL] LEC WBS

Hi Katherine, Vadim,

Is anything happening with regard to making various WBS for the LEC?

LEC WBS:

LEC Electron Accelerator subsystems:

Management

Physics Design

Gun and HVPS

Cathodes systems

Laser and laser transport

Controls and MPS

Instrumentation

Mechanical systems (magnets, beam dumps, cooling sections mu-metal)

Power Supplies

Vacuum systems

RF systems

Installation

Commissioning

I provided these WBS for the LEC and potential names back in August.

We need to construct full LEC WBS so that we can have meaningful interaction with various

groups and move forward with the LEC design.

Thank you,

                            Alexei

Vadim, thanks for adding me and Alexei. Silvia, Vadim is correct, we do not have charge codes set up for ELR yet. Can you please provide more information on the scope of what we have received and the cost? Do we have approval to cost this IKC

Do we have approved requirements for these cavities and a QA process to verify they meet the requirements?

Thanks,

Katherine

Hello, Silvia.

LEC plans to use seventeen 197 MHz cavities. I’m wondering how many you have received from CERN. Would that be enough for all our planned EIC applications?

During the LEC cost estimate, the RF system costs were provided to us by Binping, so he should know whether the cavity transportation cost was included in the estimate.

With respect to transferring the cost to the LEC RF WBS area:
the LEC is part of the ELR subproject, and to my knowledge the WBS for that subproject is not yet implemented in P6 (Katherine can correct me if I’m wrong). As soon as it is implemented, one can move the cost.
How much cost should we transfer to the LEC WBS?

With best regards,

                                   Vadim Ptitsyn.

Hi Silvia,

Yes, EIN requested 2 of these cavities. We have them included in the first round of the cost estimate, but need updates later to be accurate.

Thanks,

Qiong

Hello, Qiong, Vadim,

I am wondering if your BOE for the EIN and the LEC include some cost associated to the 200 MHz SPS cavities we recently received from CERN. I believe a few will be used for the LEC and 1 or 2 for the EIN.

The cost to bring them into BNL was paid under NCRF WBS (not a lot of money, just transport plus tariffs) but should be transferred to the appropriate WBS. You should also take credit for the cost savings associated to this operation. I estimated that the whole lot was worthy about 20 M$.

Best wishes,

Silvia Verdú Andrés
