[Eicatjlab_all_personnel] [EXTERNAL] ANNOUNCEMENT: Q. Wu, EIN Subproject Manager

Dear EIC Project Team,

I am pleased to announce that, effective immediately, Qiong Wu has officially been named Subproject Manager for the Electron Injector (EIN) Subproject.

Qiong has served as the primary point of contact for the Electron Injector subproject since the decision to relocate the Rapid Cycling Synchrotron outside the collider tunnel. Her leadership over the past year has been instrumental in advancing the maturity of the Electron Injector subproject. In September, the Machine Advisory Committee noted that the progress on the Electron Injector has been “phenomenal.”  In addition, Qiong’s leadership played a central role in the successful completion of the EIC Accelerator Systems R&D program.

Since my last organizational update in July, our plans for the reporting structure of the Subproject Managers have evolved. All Subproject Managers will now report directly to me and will be accountable to Technical Director Sergei Nagaitsev and Project Manager Luisella Lari for executing their scope in alignment with the project’s technical requirements, plans, cost, and schedule.  As with the Accelerator Storage Ring Subproject, a dedicated team will focus on planning and executing the EIN scope. Qiong will work with the Executive Management Team to identify and fill the System Manager roles needed to lead in the areas of Infrastructure and Utilities, Preinjector and Beam Accumulator Ring, Rapid Cycling Synchrotron, and System Integration.

We are grateful for Qiong’s leadership and her dedication to driving the success of the EIC Project.  Please join me in congratulating Qiong in this important new role.
