I am planning to retire in 2026. While that date is still ahead, the scale and importance of the Electron-Ion Collider project make it essential that we plan thoughtfully and well in advance for leadership continuity. To that end, Brookhaven National Laboratory,

 in partnership with Jefferson Lab, has initiated a formal search process for the next EIC Project Director.</div>

It has been a true privilege to lead the EIC Project and to work alongside such a dedicated, talented, and collaborative team. As we now enter the construction phase of the project, this is an exciting and pivotal moment for EIC. It is also the right time to

 bring in new leadership that can guide the project through construction and into operations.</div>
