[Eng-div] Lost Property

All,
     We did fairly well this year in the department of lost property.   
We could not account for a total of $14,339 worth. There were 3 items in 
excess of $1k ea.   However, what should bug us all about these lost 
items is that all of them had been located the previous year.  One was 
lost 6 months after it had previously been accounted for.   We should 
all realize that this isn't just a book keeping exercise.   The cost of 
this property represents money we can put towards other efforts/items.   
With present budgets, this loss is something we can ill afford.   It 
ranks right up there with having to have a van cleaned to get the smoke 
smell out of it because people are smoking in the vehicle contrary to 
established rules.

     Let's all work to do better next year.
