Staff Should Get Automated Calls for Lab Closures, Delayed Openings
April 1, 2013
Jefferson Lab uses an automated phone message system to call lab staff members' home or cell phone numbers in advance of the lab having a delayed opening or a closure due to unplanned events such as severe weather.
For instance, lab management decided to delay opening the lab on March 25 due to snowfall on Sunday evening. If you didn't receive the automated phone call advising you of the delay, or if you'd like to update your phone number, have the calls go to your cell phone, please do the following:
Use your Jefferson Lab user name and password to log in to the Employee Self Service System (ESS) at: https://misportal.jlab.org/DeltekTC/
Click on the arrow (>) to the left of the Personal tab in the menu column on the left. Then click on the selection labeled Address/Phone.
In the box labeled Telephone, go to the field labeled Home and enter the Home phone number you want called for these automated messages. If you don't have a Home phone or prefer that your cell phone be called with these messages, leave this entry blank and fill in the field labeled Mobile.
Then move your cursor to the upper, left corner of the utility screen and click on Save.
This will force an update to your ESS information and your new or changed phone number will be loaded into the lab's automated phone message system.
Previously the system only picked up entries in the Home phone field, but with the number of households that no longer have a Home phone, your Mobile phone will be called if no Home phone is available.
