All,
As we return to operations following the 2014 summer SAD, the role of the Geographic Integrators will again become an important part of our coordination process between systems within the geographic areas of the accelerator.   The Geographic Integrators and their respective areas are listed below:
•       Injector – Yan Wang
•       Linacs – Ramakrishna Bachimanchi
•       Beam Transport – Anthony DiPette
•       Hall A – Omar Garza
•       Hall B – Chris Gould
•       Hall C – Ernest Stallworth
•       Hall D – Trent Allison

While each of these individuals is an expert in their areas, their integrator duties require them to explore and understand inter-connected systems within their areas.   We (Arne and Will) ask you to cooperate fully with their requests for information and in some cases requests to schedule and perform work.  Please educate them where necessary and support them at all times.   The Engineering Liaison to Operations (Ken Baggett) will lead the team and serve as the primary communication point for all Geographic Integrators.    As a reminder, the role of the integrator has the following responsibilities:
·          Serve as the regional owner for the Geographic Integrator’s assigned accelerator area.
·          Ensure components are installed per the CED/Songsheets.   Work with system owner/experts to correct mis-alignments between the CED, songsheets, and the actual machine configuration.
·          Track progress of the specific area leading up to and through the hot checkout process.
·          Identify potential problems affecting performance or schedule and communicate them to the engineering liaison and during scheduled meetings.
·          Identify and communicate projects that operations management should consider to improve function, maintainability, reliability, or safety of the systems in their geographic area.
·          Facilitate interaction, communication, and cooperation between groups working on tasks involving shared components or systems.
·          Be aware of and integrate all inter-system activities within the geographic area. Attention must be given to specific systems, including—but not limited to—software, cryogenics, power, LCW, diagnostics, and other systems required to transport beam properly through the geographic area.
·          Lead Focus Meetings as required to address any potential or existing issues in your geographic area as requested by the Program Deputy.

Thank you in advance for your support,
Will & Arne
