ACCELERATOR SEMINAR 

Progress on the Chinese ADS Project

IMP, China hosts the two SRF projects, China Accelerator Driven Sub-critical System (CADS) & h igh i ntensity Heavy Ion Accelerator Facility (HIAF). For CADS project, some progress has been achieved during the past two years. The RFQ has accelerated 10 mA beams up to 2.15 MeV in CW mode in July, 2014. The test cryomodule with single SRF HWR cavity and two SRF solenoids had accelerated 11mA CW proton beams with the energy gain of 0.5 MeV in Feb. 2015. The first cryomodule CM6-1 with 6 HWR cavities and 6 solenoids has accelerated 2.7 mA CW proton beams to 5.33 MeV. More works will be done in the following two years in order to fulfill 10 mA, 25MeV proton CW beam through the front-end linac as a demonstration for the ADS project.
