All,
The purpose of JLab's STOP Observation Program is to engage workers and reviewers in an ongoing dialog regarding our safety culture.
STOP Observations can be used as a regular means to discuss how work is being done, whether it is planned properly, whether hazards have been fully evaluated, is the right PPE being applied, etc.
There are times when STOP Observations catch an unsafe act or situation which needs to be remedied.
Regardless of whether you are making the STOP observation or being observed, the expectation is the interaction will be cordial, open, and honest. We are all working together creating a safe work environment, preventing accidents, and avoiding injuries.
“No activity is so important or urgent that our standards for safety, health, or environmental protection are compromised.”
Tim Michalski
Engineering Division Deputy
Gayle,
Please distribute to all of Engineering.
Thanks,
Tim
