[Esr-users] ESR Restart update

Hi All,

This morning I got word that ESR purification has started. This is a big step in getting 4 kelvin helium flowing.
The current plan is to have 4K available for Hall C cooldown on Monday July 16. This is 2 weeks and 2 days ahead of August 1 which was the date that was discussed and documented in the attached report. I hope that the cryoguys will keep us all informed of the progress on the refrigerator restart so that we know if there are any changes.

Monday July 2 there will be a loss of Recovery Compressors for 2 days. The system should be back up Tuesday afternoon on July 3. To keep the 3 Halls positive pressure we (cyro and I) will configure the system such that the warm returns are pressurized by Hall B only. All 4 atm helium will be shut off to Halls A and C and Hall B will be used as the regulator to provide the other halls with pressure. I will shoot for 1.2 atm on the warm returns and I'm quite confident that this will work well. Once this is setup doing drop tests on each Hall should be quite easy by isolating the warm returns for short periods of time.

Halls Status:

Hall C: Has a nitrogen U-tube that has lost vacuum and has been replaced. It is or will be leak tested to determine how to make repairs. Hall C should push to be ready for the July 16 4K available but should let me know if for some reason they will not be ready.

Hall B: Is nearly done with all maintenance on its cryo-hardware and this will be completed by the end of next week. Hall B will be ready for 4K cooldown on July 16 but is prepared to wait until August 1 or later if needed. But they would like to get to 4K to check the target.

Hall A: Is working on vacuums. If they desire an earlier cooldown than what is in the attached file they should prepare to receive 4 atm helium for 300 to 80K cooling on ~August 1

Please address any questions to me.
