All,

The Torus (+3770 A) and Solenoid (+2416 A) simultaneous run was successful.

Both magnets are now down at zero amps and PSUs are locked out.

No further magnet energization runs have been planned for the immediate future.

Regards

Ruben

Good evening all,

Here is a summary of our tests today:

  1.
Torus +3770 A, Solenoid +2416 A - OK
  2.
Torus +3770 A, Solenoid -2416 A - OK
  3.
Torus -3770 A, Solenoid -2416 A - OK
  4.
Torus -3770 A, Solenoid +2416 A - this was actually already done in Dec 2018 (the magnets stayed in this configuration from 12/12/18 to 12/19/18)

The load cell readings for both magnets changed only marginally for Cases 2 and 3, when compared to the values observed for Case 1.

The relevant log entries are:

Denny,

Both magnets are now at zero Amps. We shall lock out the PSUs and turn off the beacons, so Todd and Calvin can use the crane tomorrow at 06:30am as planned.

Tomorrow morning at 8am we shall do one final run at:

Torus +3770 A, Solenoid +2416 A to ensure that nothing has changed.

Regards

Ruben
