[Esr-users] Cryo to hall C

Steve,

I apologize for not responding on this matter in a timely fashion. Thursday morning at around 11am we (Cryo) had an insulating vacuum go bad on the CHL2 Helium dewar, and the resulting high flow rate to recovery increased the pressure on recovery suction up to 2 Atm. The loss of 4K supply and Magnet liquid levels was most likely due to back flow of warm gas from the warm return into the magnets. The effect on ESR and the sudden drop in magnet liquid levels, at first glance, looked like a Fast dump of multiple magnets. I am sorry about the initial confusion about the situation.

-Chris

I am in hallC.

No cell service

What do you mean by not recharging the magnets. The Power supplies are turned off.

Liquid inventory is gone on most of the SHMS magnets and the HMS dipole.

Steve - Jonathan Creel has been trying to get in touch with you. Please do not recharge the magnets until he confirms that it is safe to do so. I have asked Eric to speak to you too.

Regards

Ruben

Flow to Hall C has dropped from 22g/s to 12 g/s

Magnets are losing inventory

ESR tripped off?
