[Esr-users] Hall B - About to ramp both torus and solenoid to full field (3770 A and 2416 A respectively)

Stepan,

I don't think we will be able to get the magnets running again tonight.

The solenoid lead reservoir has also gone down to zero. I have spoken to Chris Perry and apparently this is probably the same thing that happened earlier today. The controlled ramp down of the solenoid this evening perhaps put more heat into the lead reservoir than was expected and caused the transfer line to warm up. Chris is now trying to recover the solenoid cryogenics.

However, I am not confident that the LCW is stable enough for us to be able to run. We should meet in the counting room tomorrow at 8am to review before running again.

I suggest the following attendees:

Myself

Stepan

Dave Kashy

Probir

Tyler

Bob Miller

Denny

Regards

Ruben

Hello Ruben,

We are doing one more Moller measurements, ~45 min, then will take the beam away and wait for magnets.
Please let me know status of magnets when you know more. If magnets will not be ready for tonight, we may want to cancel owl shift.

Thanks, Stepan
