Good afternoon,
The burping of Hall B's Torus magnet went very well and has been completed. To further test our procedure we proceeded to start cooling the Torus back down and insure that we can accomplish burping the Torus without having any negative effect on any other cryogenic component anywhere else. I am very happy to say that this also went flawlessly and the Torus was well on its way back to normal without so much as a hiccup. The plan from this point was to warm our cryo systems to 80K and isolate 4K flow to the Hall. That is still our plan, however, with it being late on a Friday and conversing with Chris Perry we decided it would be best to start the warm up on Monday. To minimize our load on ESR I decided to place the Torus back in burp mode and let it float up over the weekend. Many thanks to Dave Kashy for a concise, detailed and functional procedure.
Cheers,
Denny
