[Esr-users] [Revised Logentry] Follow-up Re: HallB torus burp

Torus coils hit ~38K on CCM_T_AVG and the vacuum rose quickly with a peak of 0.5 torr.
The gate valves to both turbo pumps closed, and the permanently installed blower started, BUT the gate valve on its inlet did not open.
Hall B techs opened the gate valve to a spare blower which was piped in just in case of something like this did happen.
They called me (Dave) and we went to the Hall. The valve control panel which set the mode of each valve had the control knob set to auto which should have allowed the blower inlet valve to open but it did not so the only pump on the magnet was the spare pump. I put the control knob in manual open and the valve opened as shown on the screen shot attached. This needs to be trouble shot at first opportunity and I think it wise not to go back to 4K until a repair is made. We have time to reconsider this decision if it will impact the Physics program.
