Chris Perry provided a technically accurate description of events that restricted the magnet lead cooling flow path. I assume that some of you are unfamiliar with some of the terms.</p>
<p style="margin: 0in 0in 8pt; line-height: 107%; font-family: "Times New Roman",serif; font-size: 12pt">
The lead flows for Halls A, B, and C are aligned via a common pipe to the suction of the recovery compressors at CHL. The control system relies upon a PI (pressure indicator), which failed at approximately 10:00 AM on 24Oct19.
<span style="mso-spacerun:yes"> </span>The tag number for the suction pressure indicator is CPI0840. As a result of the failure, the actual pressure in the lead flow pipe for each hall became elevated.</p>

We appreciated the quick response of the team, who prevented a trip of ESR, because the loss of lead flow caused a transient heat load on the cryogenic plant.</p>

At around 10:00 today (10/24) the primary PI (CPI0840) that we use to set the recovery suction (Warm Return) pressure began to read wrong which caused warm return to over pressurize. We have switched to another PI to control recovery suction until the primary
PI gets fixed. In the mean time warm return pressure should remain stable and magnet recovery efforts can commence.</div>
