Dear Team,

I am writing to inform you that Kate Mace, Jefferson Lab’s High Performance Data Facility (HPDF) project director, will be leaving Jefferson Lab on December 3, to pursue an exciting new opportunity that offers her significant professional advancement in a sector she’s been passionate about for many years. While we are saddened to see her go, we are also thrilled for her as she embarks on this new chapter in her career.

Kate joined us last October with more than two decades of experience in building and operating large-scale, complex programs across academia and the public and private sectors. During her time with us, Kate has been instrumental in leading the advancement of the HPDF Project. Her strategic planning, technical expertise, and performance management has been instrumental in driving our operational excellence in key technical areas at the project level and has positioned us well as we advance towards becoming a multipurpose laboratory.

Over the past year we have made a significant investment in building up our program bench for the project’s long-term success. We have a strong team in place, and I am pleased to announce that HPDF Technical Director Graham Heyes will step in as the acting project director while we search for a permanent replacement. Graham's experience and dedication will ensure that the project continues to thrive and achieve its milestones and deliverables for the Department of Energy on time and within budget. I am confident in the bright future of the HPDF Project.

Please join me in wishing Kate all the best in her future endeavors. Her contributions have left a lasting impact on our lab, and we are grateful for her dedication and hard work.
