The following HVAC Outage has been Confirmed:

Outage:      Switching Between CUP and Test Lab Chillers

Description/Impacts:
We will be switching all the Central Chiller Plant cooling load to the CUP Chiller tomorrow to enable all three Test Lab chillers to be shutdown briefly in an effort to determine if the Test Lab chillers contribute to noise generation in the Test Lab G-Area first floor conference rooms.  Once sound level measurements are taken, all the Central Chiller Plant cooling load will be switched to the Test Lab basement chillers and the CUP chiller shutdown.  The CUP chiller will remain off to facilitate CUP Building modifications (installation of a second 800 ton chiller) and replacement of existing 6" chilled water piping between the TED Building and CEBAF Center with 10" chilled water piping.  Since construction work will not begin until late October 2015, the CUP will be available to start automatically if a Test Lab Chiller System problem were to occur.

Impacts to equipment and areas cooled by the Central Chiller System should be minimal (small temperature and pressure fluctuations).  Areas and equipment conditioned include the F-Wing Data Center, F113 Conference Room, all of the Test Lab except the G-Area, the UHV Furnace, the EEL Building, and all Accelerator Service Buildings cooled by the Accelerator Chilled Water Loop.
