[Ffa23] Announcement of FFA2023 Workshop on Fixed Field Alternating Gradient Accelerators

Dear Colleagues,

The International Workshop on Fixed Field Alternating Gradient Accelerators, FFA2023, will take place at Jefferson Lab in Newport News, Virginia, USA during the week of September, 10-15, 2023. We cordially invite you to attend this meeting in-person; however, we will facilitate on-line participation, if needed.

The workshop itself will cover the four days: Tuesday, September 12th to Friday, September 15th and will be preceded by an optional FFA School on the 10th and 11th of September.

The school will serve as a basic introduction to FFA accelerators, including applications, beam dynamics, modelling codes and hardware. Reduced registration fee is offered to students wishing to attend the school.

The meeting is intended to address fundamental challenges faced in the study of different types of FFA accelerator and in developing them as viable options for a host of practical applications. These range from small, for example medical-type, machines to the proposed large-scale facilities such as the muon collider. While participants will learn about the status and future plans for existing FFA’s and about current FFA research programmes, we are keen to hear from anyone engaged in other projects in which an FFA might also play a part.
