I certainly think looking at your Option B would help reduce the burden on the splitters without adding nonlinear magnets. If it also helps the match conditions, all the better!

The thing I think might be hard to solve that way is R56 (TOF is OK overall because separate lines).
I should mention I had an alternative lattice "B" in my IPAC24 paper that reduced the TOF and R56 by over a factor of two from the baseline, even with linear magnets, by using a slightly shorter cell. One of the nonlinear field solutions does even better even with a long cell. We could try and optimise a cell with the smallest TOF variation if that would help in the splitters.
