Subject: [Jlab-scicomp-briefs] JLab Mass Storage System outage May 12-14

Dear JLab Scientific Computing Users,

Jefferson Lab's Mass Storage System, including the IBM TS3500 tape library & associated JASMine software, will be unavailable Tuesday May 12 - Thursday May 14, while the tape library is reconfigured.  It will be moved to a temporary location in the F112 Data Center as part of the UIM upgrade, and will be consolidated from 14 to 9 frames, replacing 8 of its frames with 3 higher density ones.  Work is scheduled to last no more than 72 hours.

During this work, jput, jget, jmirror, and other /mss related commands and tape I/O will not be available. Please plan for this necessary outage.
