The eqn: A = R / G (acceptance = reconstructed / generated) is done for each
energy bin seen in the plots. The events simulated was exactly:
   gamma p --> Xi- K+ K+
and the Xi- was allowed to decay according to geant. So the events were
exclusively Xi- signal events. We did not put any effort into reproducing
the background shape which is extremely complicated and may not be quite
possible yet (it would appear that the background in Fig. 3.37 consists
mostly of real physics events and not just pion misidentification, though
its unclear what these events really are)

The simulated flux actually followed the shape of the excitation function of
the Xi- quite well though it hardly matters since I did not do any angular
distribution analyses for instance. This might be done after i give my
defense to get the differential cross section, but then we'll need a better
event generator than the one I used.

I hope that answered your questions, and thank you for taking the time to
look at my thesis!
