Hey Guys,
I am attaching the plot that is included in the analysis report from the simulation of " p pi+ pi- > p rho " channel.
The study mainly focused on the resolution of the missing mass through DC smearing in the simulation. The main thing the smearing parameters accomplished was matching the DC residuals of the MC and the Data obtained from the tracking algorithm. It was found that this smearing only partially accounted for the increase in the width of the missing mass for my pKK channel.
When I looked at the TOF resolution for the simulated channel, I found that the resolutions were pretty similar so we could either ignore the "-f" flag or set it to 1. See attached plot. If you think its different for your analysis channel, you can set it to something higher that will give you a match and In my opinion should be an acceptable practice across different g12 analyses.
I will check it for the phi-eta and get back to everyone in a couple of weeks. I will be inactive for a while longer, till I find a Job.
Regards,
Mukesh.

If you used +-2ns cut, I don't see it being a problem for you. But for
people analyzing kaon data, I suspect that are using a tighter timing
cut, and this MC/data resolution discrepancy should be taken into
consideration, if they are doing any kind of acceptance correction and
cross section calculations.
