[G12] Question of the conversion hypothesis

Greetings,
I am still analyzing my vertex calculations, I have nothing final yet to
show.
But I did have a question about the hypothesis that the events outside
of the target are conversions.
If I were to have a different topology in which I could have a pi0 in
the final state decay to e+e-gamma, then these events would also show
the same ratio of events outside of the target, correct?
If so, then I can look at the gamma p -> P Pip Pim Pi0 (e+e-gamma) MVRT
and see what fraction of events occur outside of the target, because
according to the conversion hypothesis, 2 charged tracks should be
outside of the target and the other 3 should be inside, so I would see a
shifted distribution of the same.
The fact is when I look at the vertex position for gamma p -> P Pip Pim
Pi0 (e+e-gamma, over 90% of my events are inside of the target.
I have attached the plot showing the comparison. Both plots are normalized.
So I again ask how can the events from gamma p -> p pi0 have tracks
outside of the target? Conversion?
