In those figures, a Gaussian without a polynomial would lead to the same result; see how well the fit function follows the data around the peaks! Without the polynomial, I just would have had to limit the range of the fit. Anyways, all I was after was some well-defined cut and not something as arbitrary as "+/- 1 ns" for instance.<br>
