Hi All,
Here's a short summary of what's going on and what's planned (from Franz
and I). Look at the log book for more up to date details. Daily meetings
will continue to be at 10.00 for the moment.

Status and plans for this week:
(a) trigger:
- for 2-sector trigger are very low (~350Hz on Trigbit 1) - additional
rate 960Hz (helicity scaler events on Trigbit15); tagT counters
running at 1.2-1.5MHz each, 10^-4 radiator and 2.6mm colli in beam.
Expected 'production rate' from simulation 3.3kHz for ~4.5MHz per
tagT-counter and reversed field (acceptance ~1.5-2x for 2-sector
trigger on D target) ... we should get about ~500Hz.
- for 1-prong trigger (will be used during first 2 weeks and pol(P)
part): level 2 not properly working yet, Serguei is working on that.
Serguei is working on that again thsi morning.
(b) target:
- NMR measurements successful since last Friday. Alex is still working
on spin rotation and adiabatic spin transfer.
Spin rotation was completed successfully.
- Target change postponed to next week: Sunday: move target to
production dewar on Level 2 in the hall, Monday-Wednesday?: move test
target to lab, install 'silver' target 21a; earlier schedules
discussed in detail but appear unrealistic due to holiday and length
of the operation.
(c) commissioning during this week:
- alignment of 2 diamond crystals: Ken started Tuesday morning until
beam stopped and will continue Tues. evening.
Almost completed setup of the new diamond on Tues evening. see log of continuing progress at

Hope to set up user gui for 30um diamond tonight, and do same stuff on 50um diamond.
- DAQ: Level 2 trigger problems (busy state after fast clear): 1 crate
still on busy; polar crate not in configuration yet (Tues/Wed day shift).
- data taking with ~unpolarized target (1-2 nights or more if time
allows).
POL is now in the DAQ, and problems with ending runs are fixed by stopping reading helcity events just before end of run.
- B=0 data for DC alignment with 2-sector trigger (1 night).
To do.
- TAC normalization run ... when beam stable. ... during day shift.
To do.
- Moller run: Tues/Wed during day shift to have experts onsite if
necessary.
