Attached is a draft of the revised run plan that we discussed this morning. The spins are oriented along the beam axis (+H,+D). The present circular running continues through next Thursday morning (4/19), accumulating 9 days. Probably most of Thursday is used up by Machine studies and the energy change. The time after that is split into 3 linear energy bins: 1.6-1.8, 1.8-2.0 and 2.0–2.2. On May 9th we will flip the H spin and run the last 8 days in the (-H, +D) spin orientation.
>From the g1c data for K+L (which won’t be the same as K0L but it’s all we have to go on at the moment), the total cross section falls by almost a factor of 2 across the 1.6 to 2.2 GeV range, but it’s mostly the large angle cross section that is falling – forward angles stay about the same.

With this in mind, a proposed compromise is as follows:

1.6 – 1.8 GeV: 5 days with (+H,+D) and 2 days of (-H,+D);
1.8 – 2.0 GeV: 7 days with (+H,+D) and 3 days of (-H,+D);
2.0 – 2.2 GeV: 2 days from last week + another 7 with (+H,+D) and 3 days of (-H,+D).
Comments are welcome,...
