[Gpdtc] [EXTERNAL] merger update

Hi Everyone,

Just a quick update regarding our meeting today with Feng, Ismail, Phiala, and Xiangdong to discuss the merger of our two groups. 

We actually had a very nice and productive meeting, where we discussed each of our key points in turn and with little difficulty reached agreement without the need for any modifications.

So we are now formally a single collaboration, with the eight names you know forming the Steering Committee. The eight of us will meet later this week to begin the proposal preparation process and hopefully we will have a full collaboration meeting sometime next week.

Thanks for all your efforts over the last week and in the end I think we have a good outcome.
