Seminar announcing new Muon g-2 result on Thursday, Aug. 10

Dear colleagues,

I am very excited to invite all Fermilab employees and users to join the Muon g-2 collaboration on Thursday morning, Aug. 10 for the unveiling of their new result!

The Fermilab Muon g-2 experiment presented their first result<https://urldefense.proofpoint.com/v2/url?u=https-3A__www.youtube.com_watch-3Fv-3D81PfYnpuOPA-26t-3D17s&d=DwIGaQ&c=CJqEzB1piLOyyvZjb8YUQw&r=phC8jtUHUVIl1OXaA25HKnc5L16EvLwhrqx4rXYGPWA&m=P1IC3Kh8CAcykNvLxo98CquzUZ-cvhCKVVk23oWsAXQq1OA_HWCeWybgeXLZ1xC2&s=7oHWAvxZXf5oGkoJcEwNR8xdx8ydyLzir5Da35ICGiE&e= > in 2021. This new result enhances that first measurement by incorporating the experiment’s second and third years of data. It is the experiment’s second act: the intermediate step before the Muon g-2 collaboration announces their final result, using all six years of data, in 2025.

While the scientific community is awaiting an update on the predicted theoretical value of g-2, this new, highest-precision measurement is truly exciting and a massive achievement worth celebrating.
