[Halla12_software] SoLID Software Meeting Thursday 09/03 @2pm Room B101

Hi guys

I'm sitting in an oral exam committee today.  One brief note.

I chatted with Chris Pinkenburg (central figure in the newly developing
sPHENIX software) about the following scenario:

1)  Suppose GEMC were outfitted to use its usual inputs (GUI/perl) and save
TGeo objects into either files or database (by streaming the objects into
each place...i.e. no interface code to write).
2)  Suppose GEMC were written not as an executable but instead as shared
objects loaded at run time.
3)  Suppose some mechanism for inflating TGeo into the standard geant4
objects (either adapt existing GEMC or import code from eicroot) existed.
4)  What are your thoughts?

His answer is that this is a VERY interesting scenario and he would like to
arrange a meeting with the principles to see about how this can be
accomplished.
