[halla_compton] [EXTERNAL] Fwd: Silicon detector to QWAD adapter board design

Hello,

Jie did a layout of the adapter board. See attached and her message below.
We are now wondering if we have time to make a test board or if we should
just make the 16 boards right now. If we get a test board done through some
company , it will probably take too long to then make the rest of them.

Can JLab make these on the quick?

Thanks,

Michael

Hi Michael,

The adapter board design is done. It is a little bit later than
initially planned, as the CMC server had issues for about 2 days since
Sunday night.
I put schematic and PCB source files as well as PDF files in a
compressed folder, see attached. Please note that:

  * The board width is the same with French board, but I increased the
length for 2 cm (i.e. 2 cm longer than the French board) in order to
avoid possible interference between crate front edge and the QWAD
    board.

  * The DB50 connector to QWAD is shifted upward so that the bottom of
QWAD will be flush with slot inside the crate. Because the clearance
of the underside of QWAD is unknown, this will make sure QWAD can be
    mounted with enough clearance.

  * The board has 4 layers. Top & bottom layers are used as shielding
and the signal traces are routed on two middle layers.

  * There is a jumper used to select either bias HV or GND for pin48 and
pin49 of the crate back plane connector (on my schematic, the jumper
is for pin49 and pin50. This is because my crate connector's pins
are counted from 1 instead of from 0).

  * There is a 2:1 attenuator for each channel. This attenuation
ratio can be easily changed by choosing different values of resistors.

Jie
