(the day before the open house)
c) Beam is likely by the end of October
d) MIE for Møller was submitted last Friday (9/16)
e) SBS review is scheduled for October 13-14
f) Informal discussion re SOLID is Friday September
30.
2) Whit Seay
a) Pb and sheet metal for the low power dump is here
i) Expect the W later this week
b) Camera assembly will be ready the 2nd week in
October
c) BeO viewer is ready
d) 3rd Arm: expect delivery of materials any day
i) Outstanding is the support for the magnetic
shielding (should be OK by experiment start)
e) Robin is making cost estimates for 7 experiments
(approved but not part of SBS, Møller, or SOLID)
f) Robin also making TOSCA calculations for g2p
g) Asks what will be needed for the October 8 g2p
review?
i) Javier says the charge will be out later this
week then it should be clearer.
ii) J-P rambles on about things he might need
3) Installation: (Ed Folts)
a) Working with Robin on cost estimates
b) Magnets are cold
c) Testing power supplies
d) The balcony is within mm?s of being centered
e) Rerouted water around the magnet to facilitate
the lifting mechanism etc.
f) Beamline work continues
g) Couple of weeks behind schedule, but believe we
can make the November 19 start.
i) Re starting earlier, ?we?re not that half
full?. Possible but not likely!

i) Beamline is slightly more delayed
(1) Harp firmware needs work, hope to be
finished by the end of the month
(2) New BPM?s for g2p won?t be ready for
testing till mid-October
(3) Need the new BPM?s to get the needed
precision? Systematic error on scattering
angles will suffer.
(4) Hardware for the chicane is needed. Hope
to get it in October.
(5) Taking beam early is not likely
ii) Target is cooling down as planned
iii) Writing documents
b) SOLID:
i) Brainstorming meeting is September 30
ii) Visited Stony Brook and BNL. Talked with
detector experts as needed for SOLID. They are
willing to collaborate.
c) Transversity: Re 2nd paper, got comments from
referees, all positive. Will need a little more
work but then it should be good to go.

a) Shows lots of pictures and plots from his trip to
Europe to test GEM?s
i) Gives lots of details about the setup and GEM?s
in general
ii) Proper Grounding resulted in a factor of 10
reduction in noise!
iii) Shows the test setup used at Mainz
iv) Testing was very efficient. Support at Mainz
was minimal but excellent
v) Overall got good very positive results
