The g2p/GEp experiments had a productive commissioning run
using a solid target or no target. The polarized proton
target, being repaired now, should be ready by mid-February.
At that point the experiment may begin in earnest.

Here is the RC report from the commissioning:

Other highlights:

-- Some problems remain with superharps and other beamline
instrumentation. Experts project that the problems will be
fixed by Feb 15, just in time for the target (See RC report.)

-- Thanks to Alex, Vince, Kalyan, and the students, the HRS
DAQ runs at 6 kHz per HRS w/20% DT, a new record for
our Fastbus, and a very welcome increase in the experiment's
efficiency. Also, the 3rd arm DAQ runs at 10 kHz. Bogdan
reminds us we should develop a model for the DAQ and verify
it with our data so we may understand the remaining bottlenecks.
Alex and the students are working on it. (Note also that a factor
of ~10 speed increase should be possible in the future with
    pipelined electronics.)

-- The engineers and designers working on some remaining g2p items,
the 12 GeV projects in Hall A, the APEX designs, and long-term plans.

-- A tentative schedule (to base our planning upon) for the
12 GeV commissioning beam time and start of 12 GeV physics
will be published in a few weeks. This will be similar in
spirit to to what Arne Freyberger reported at our Hall A meeting.
Once we have that, we'll propose how to use that time.

-- Jian-Ping: There is a brainstorming session for the SoLID
spectrometer project on the afternoon of Fri Jan 6 at JLab.

-- Bogdan: The Program Management Plan (PMP) for the Superbigbite
Spectrometer (SBS) was submitted to DOE on Dec 27. There will be
a series of meetings, once per week on Fridays at 10 am, to discuss
various aspects of SBS (experiments, detectors, equipment, manpower,
etc); the first one is this Friday morning to review the polarized
He-3 target, with G. Cates presiding.
