Minutes of Hall A Group Meeting November 27, 2012
1)	Thia Keppel
a)	News from the senior staff meeting
i)	There was another safety incident in the Physics Division. 
Someone in the course of ?normal? work moved in an odd way 
and got a backache. Appears to be another ergonometric 
thing. Looking into ways to prevent such things. 
(Exercise, take breaks when doing repetitive work, etc.)
ii)	A safety culture survey is coming around. Please fill 
it out if you?re selected
iii)	There will be another week of the vacation donation 
program (see your e-mail)
iv)	The doors will continue to be locked at least until 
January
v)	Performance appraisal is ongoing
vi)	This Friday, Saturday, and Sunday (11/30-12/2) the NSAC 
subcommittee will have its resolution meeting. Expect the 
final report by the end of January.
(1)	Some interesting statistics that the lab has been 
asked to provide
(a)	Total number of students and post-docs doing JLab 
related work: 416 PhD?s and 500 Post-docs
(b)	Undergraduates: 50/year since 2007
(c)	150 new faculty positions
(d)	Citations:
(i)	Hall B: 5,500
(ii)	Hall A: 5,300
(iii)	Hall C: 4,300
(e)	18 DOE reviews of the 12 GeV Upgrade
2)	Robin Wines
a)	DVCS/GMp:
i)	Having a swing arm meeting after this meeting to discuss 
new developments and spec?s
ii)	Extension flange drawings are ready for sign-off
iii)	Doing shielding support work
b)	SBS:
i)	Magnet analysis continues
ii)	Magnet support work ongoing
iii)	Detector support work too
3)	Ed Folts
a)	Heidi is working on the cryogenics
b)	Møller quads surveyed. Ran out of adjustment. Will discuss 
with Javier if it?s good enough.
c)	The raised Compton laser table will be surveyed either this 
afternoon or tomorrow
d)	Upstream support of the super harp girder also to be 
surveyed either this afternoon or tomorrow
e)	Compton magnet power supply work is ongoing
f)	HRS cool down is scheduled for August. This is fine for us.
4)	Bob Michaels
a)	Gives report on Compton DAQ development and High Voltage 
maintenance
b)	See link-pptx or link-pdf  for his slides
