Minutes of Hall A Group Meeting: March 5, 2019


1.      Steve Wood

a.       Senior Staff

                                                              i.      Discussed upcoming change to time reporting system

1.      Several training sessions the week if March 25th

2.      Rolf collected information from all groups on standard lunch break times & will be providing guidance

                                                            ii.      Discussed the need for dropping the energy of the machine

1.      Should improve the amount of charge experiments will be able to get

2.      Some reduction in the physics that can be done

                                                          iii.      Starting April 1st the lab will be further implementing the DOE required unclassified foreign visitor and assignments UFVA program

1.      Memo will be sent out from the Director soon

2.      Robin Wines

a.       PREX/CREX

                                                              i.      Completed drawings for lifting/install fixture for collimator area

                                                            ii.      Completed and ordered beam line parts upstream of target

                                                          iii.      Continue on target

b.      SBS

                                                              i.      Working on GEN-RP experiment

c.       MOLLER

                                                              i.      Supporting efforts for Director's Review

3.      Jessie Butler

a.       Continue to support the APEX experiment

b.      Had 2 hall accesses during the past week

                                                              i.      Accessed the hall on Sunday night to reset the RQ2

1.      Unable to pinpoint why the power supply tripped off but it reset without any issues

                                                            ii.      Also entered the hall on Wednesday night because the L-Dipole tripped off

1.      Unable to reset the fault because the PLC was locked up

2.      Ethan reset the PLC using the software on Thursday morning

c.       Continue working on removing the epoxy and test fitting the PREX septum coil

d.      Completed the cold shock and leak check of PREX collimator

e.       Received and QA PREX septum vacuum feed-through's

f.        Made short feet extension for pivot stand

g.      Inventoried LCW parts for PREX

4.      Run Coordinator Reports - Cameron Clarke & Jinlong Zhang
