Subject: [Halla_parity] /work/halla/parity area migration

Hi all,

the /work/halla/parity disk area will be migrated to a new file server 
this coming Monday, November 15, between approximately 9 am-12 noon. The 
new server offers more space (x2) and speed (observed gain about x2) as 
well as transparent file compression (observed gain about 1.15).

Please do not run any jobs that might write to /work/halla/parity during 
the migration. Reading files should be OK, but to be safe, simply do not 
run any jobs, period. Make sure your farm queue is empty ahead of time.

After the migration, the current disk area will be available under 
/work/halla/parity.old for about 1 week.
If this date does not work for you for some compelling reason, please 
let me know asap so it can be rescheduled.
