Instead of meeting during the weekday, we suggest to have meetings on Skype with Khem at 10:00 PM on Wednesday nights. </span><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: 18px; ">Is this agreeable to those who are concerned and want to participate in these meetings? Do you have any other suggestions? If not, w</span><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: 18px; ">e will try this to see how it works. The first meeting will be this Wednesday night at 10:00 PM.</span></div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: 18px;"><br></span></div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: 18px;">The goal at this time is for Khem with Cole's help to:</span></div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: 18px;"><br></span></div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: 18px;">1) Re-analyze runs where the beam was stable during second half of data taking without adjusting beam energy in the simulation according to the Tiefenbach readout in the data stream. Discussed during Khem's thesis defense.</span></div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: 18px;">2) Correct the "double counting" by not including air gap and HRS window in simulation to improve energy calibration. Compare to elastic scattering.</span></div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: 18px;">3) Look at the background again from the window to be sure we are shifting it appropriately with W. Another point is we should look at (pi^-, p) production from the neutron using MAID or DMT, make Fermi motion corrections, and the use that W dependence normalized to the aluminum window data to make background corrections.</span></div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: 18px;">4) Determine systematic error by making cuts on HRS and BigBite acceptances, etc as discussed earlier.</span></div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: 18px;">5) Cole will check a few runs at second pass beam energy</span></div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: 18px;">6) After checking items 1,2,3 and 4, then we hope we can start preparing a publication for the cross section.</span></div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: 18px;"><br></span></div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: 18px;">Appreciate hearing any comments from you all.</span></div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: 18px;"><br></span></div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: 18px;">Richard</span></div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: 18px;"><br></span></div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: 18px;"><br></span></div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: 18px;"><br></span></div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: 18px;"><br><br><br><br>_______________________________________________<br>Halla_pi0 mailing list<br><a href="mailto:Halla_pi0@jlab.org">Halla_pi0@jlab.org</a><br>https://mailman.jlab.org/mailman/listinfo/halla_pi0</span></div></body></html>
