Hello All,

I just talked with Arne and they have had a very good day at MCC. Beam is currently on the Hall A dumplette. RADCON is headed over to survey, then they'll sweep the hall, and with luck we'll have beam in a couple hours. The hoped-for plan is to take data with the carbon target and pulsed beam. Once they demonstrate the accelerator milestone, Arne will then have us pull the target and they will try to put CW beam into the hall. We can then take CW data on carbon/optics during the overnight using the sieve.

Tomorrow, during the day shift, accelerator would plan to do some optics tests. Again, if all goes well, Arne would be willing to provide CW beam to the hall for the swing/owl shifts, presumably so we can do Moller commissioning. These plans will be discussed tomorrow morning when we know more about how the beam is behaving.

As Arne said, this is all happening quickly so I will try to keep everyone posted on our progress. Also, many thanks to Mongi and Frederic for agreeing to take the shifts tonight on such short notice!

/Luke
