This morning we went to Restricted Access to cool down the target. Unfortunately, there is a leak in the 15 cm "standard" cell as well as the new cell designed by Silviu Covrig - only the 4 cm cell did not leak.  We did not cool down the 4 cm cell to facilitate repair of the longer cells starting tomorrow.

Tonight, we will continue with the beam dump ion chamber test plan, or own raster/BPM checkout, and some running on solid targets. The runplan for SWING and OWL shift can be found here:

At the moment, we are still in Restricted Access, but should be calling for a sweep at about 6 pm.

Since the experiment requires the longer cells, we've decided to go ahead and attempt to fix the target starting tomorrow (Tuesday, November 11) at 7 am. This repair will require letting up the vacuum in the scattering chamber, hence we will be unable to take beam until at least Wednesday morning. We will try to cool the targets again Wednesday during the Day shift.

The hall will remain in Restricted Access starting Tuesday Day until Wednesday Swing. Tuesday DAY and SWING shifts, as well as Wednesday OWL are on standby, i.e., shift takers do not need to come to the Counting house for shift, but must provide contact information to the Run Coordinator in case they are needed. 

Although we are still planning on being in Restricted on Wednesday, DAY, I would like the shift leader to be in the Counting House to help ensure all is ready for beam on swing, and interface with MCC. 3rd person and Target operator will be on standby for that shift.

Normal shifts will resume Wednesday SWING.
