We continue taking production data on Pb#8 with 70 uA. The shift crew continues to simultaneously take Compton data.
We had a few hiccups in the last 24 hours:
1) Accelerator had two 1-2 hour downs due to cryo-modules.
2) The Compton laser IOC stopped responding and needed to be rebooted. The new fiber amp could not be rebooted from upstairs and required a short access to reset (ARM was able to support us due to it being a low dose zone).
3) This morning the collimator IOC needed to be rebooted, and came back up successfully.
4) Also this morning the parity alarm alerted shift workers to a rise in collimator temperatures, which had been caused by a beam drift (https://logbooks.jlab.org/entry/3721348). Shift workers reacted promptly, they notified MCC to turn off beam, requested that the beam be tuned before returning to high current running. A discussion was started about other checks or possibly and FSD that can aid the shift crew in responding to such a sudden temperature rise.
Let's continue this discussion today at the RC meeting. We should also discuss the upcoming run plans, including a low-current Q2 measurement Wednesday. Discuss when the next Moller and Wien flip should happen.
We'll have our usual RC meeting today at 3:30 in the second floor of the Counting House. For those participating from remote, here is the usual call-in instructions:
