Yesterday, Moller measurement was done and back-out process was completed around 9pm. Before going back to production running, we had a short test (adjusting 1C20 quad) to address the Compton background rates. Compton bg rates were checked but they seemed to be still high (> 4kHz), so we decided to run straight through all night and revisit in the morning with more experts around.
Production resumed around 22:30. We are still on target #5, the collimator temp (out) is mostly flat around 70 and deltaT around 21-22. They were closely monitored all night together with detector width from data. There hasn't been no sign of increase in the width so far.
Today experts will come up with a plan to optimize the Compton background rates in the morning and try to address the issue. Expect to start around 10am-ish. Until then, we will continue taking data without Compton.
Note for shift crew:
- Keep an eye on the collimator temperature and data
- epics variables for Hall A temperature monitoring (https://logbooks.jlab.org/entry/3724416)
- Analysis should run on aonl machines. Reserve adaq machines for data taking and minimize other unrelated process there.
Opportunistic access requests:
- rpi8 reset (Can't control LHRS HVs now, but detector HVs are up)
- adding more shielding (Jack)
