Hall A RC Daily Update

Experiment Status:
Yesterday Day until now
* Bob looked at the raster plots:
** There was some concern about the BPM vs. raster plots: https://logbooks.jlab.org/entry/3658332
** It looks like the BPMs are too noisy, but the raster signal itself is fine: https://logbooks.jlab.org/entry/3658372#comment-20359
* We got 6 hours of ABU in the Owl shift, 6.5 in the Day, and 5 in Swing, 6 in Owl, and 5.5 in today's Day, bringing us to ~75% up time with progressively ramping up beam current for the last day+
* I created some new plots to track the quality of the data more (see the first two pages of coincidence pdfs in recent run autologs): https://logbooks.jlab.org/entry/3658420
* We took some very low current runs (0.5, 0.25, and 0.12 uA - https://logbooks.jlab.org/entry/3658495) for testing the Sci Fi:
** Configuration change: https://logbooks.jlab.org/entry/3658481, https://logbooks.jlab.org/entry/3658485 (same magnet settings as usual)
** Turned S0 back on for the SciFi triggers: https://logbooks.jlab.org/entry/3658482
** Moved to Bogdan's wire target: https://logbooks.jlab.org/entry/3658484
** Summary: https://logbooks.jlab.org/entry/3658541
** Some run summaries (this log and neighbors: https://logbooks.jlab.org/entry/3658496)
* We recieved permission to increase current to 50 uA: https://logbooks.jlab.org/entry/3658539
** There were some problems with operation limits in the injector contributing to increased trip rate, so we went down to 45, and then back up to 50uA 8 hours later.
** Scaler rate: https://logbooks.jlab.org/entry/3658542
** Reduced to 45 for a few hours: https://logbooks.jlab.org/entry/3658564
** Recognized BLA issues and moved to increase current to 50 uA: https://logbooks.jlab.org/entry/3658771
** Running at 50 uA all Day shift: https://logbooks.jlab.org/entry/3658839
* I made some target stability plots (further analyses are pending and the offline analysis is being sped up to assist): https://logbooks.jlab.org/entry/3658582
* Some concerns have developed about plots showing "good" coincidences that survive PID cuts: https://logbooks.jlab.org/entry/3658654
** Input from the collaboration is welcome, and further analysis of L vs. RHRS trigger rates is indicating that the rates are stable between both arms
** Likely a problem is the online plots are generated with only 15 seconds of data, and a beam trip is noticed to cause large variations in the quality of the data
* Further concern about raster plots, though probably just coming from less-than-optimal histogram drawing and lack of calibration: https://logbooks.jlab.org/entry/3658848
** Further discussion: https://logbooks.jlab.org/entry/3658855, https://logbooks.jlab.org/entry/3658865, https://logbooks.jlab.org/entry/3658872,
* The BCM temperatures have alarmed several times and appear to be at the upper level of the "safe" range: https://logbooks.jlab.org/entry/3658946
* Turned off S0 HV: https://logbooks.jlab.org/entry/3658953

Hall Status:
* The hall is fine, having moved to 45 uA beam on target before midnight and moved to 50 uA in the morning after recognizing current limit administrative restriction in the injector.
* Analysis of data is ongoing to ensure beam stability and proper acquisition of meaningful coincidence data.

Plan:
Continue production data on Tungsten 2.8% target at 50uA, and move higher if possible.
Possibly (though still under discussion) take data during Monday Beam Studies Day shift. Parity Quality Beam studies will be performed and should not affect heavily the quantity of beam delivered to the tungsten foil target.

RC:
Cameron Clarke is the RC (email cameronc at jlab.org, RC phone: 7578761787)
All shifts are on-call and should expect to receive full beam for production on tungsten foils, with occasional sci-fi runs pending.
