We turned off the beam at 8am in preparation for the target drive shaft replacement tomorrow. The ozone levels in the hall are too high (0.5 ppm) for Radcon to survey. So we are waiting for the ozone levels to drop below 0.4 ppm. That should take about an hour (so ~9:30am). After that we will be able to use tune beam only during day and swing. Once the survey is completed we will go to tune beam with the Pb target in place in order to do a bandwidth study. If given permission by Radcon we will then do a MOLLER test (not a MOLLER measurement) to see if we can diagnose the high ionization chamber rates beyond the beam position issue. Once the target is out for the MOLLER test (assuming it will come out all the way), it is probably out for good. So if you have some tune beam running with Pb target that you think is important, please notify me ASAP.

The Hall is NOT open for access today (Monday) at all.

We are trying to make an exhaustive list of things that we might want to go into the hall for (TOMORROW, Tuesday, July 30, not today). So if you have something you need to do, you can contact me. This can be a wish list, but please let us know the priority because the radiation levels are likely to be high, and work will be limited by Radcon. They want a list to discuss at the JRP meeting this afternoon, when they are planning the target repair.

Target operators must for sure come in for shifts. Shift leader shifts are cancelled through tomorrow day. Tuesday, July 30 swing shift crew should be here.
