Summary:

For the last 24 h, Thu - Day, Thu - Swing and Fri - Owl, the beam has been mostly missing with lots of CEBAF issues, too many to list

CREX/Hall instrumentation has been behaving

24h ABU = 273.7 min, BNA = 1166.3 min, dismal efficiency 19%

Total good charge to date 362.96 C (out of 467 C), 77.72% of proposal

Notable events:

Thu - Day

MCC: Injector resteering and RF cavs work until noon to reduce the RF trip rate, seems to have accomplished something, pretty good beam during Fri-Owl, when the beam was on

Thu - Swing

Three cheers for Victoria for filling in as SL in such a very short notice

BPM11 and BPM12 RMS triggering Cameron's fancy Parity Alarms with what it seemed like random jumps above 50k https://logbooks.jlab.org/entry/3845607. It stopp!
ed on its own.

Fri - Owl

BPM11 and BPM12 RMS behaved in the same way they did during Thu - Swing https://logbooks.jlab.org/entry/3845760. I brought the issue up at the 7:45am MCC meeting. The PD (Jay) contacted Pete Francis about this bevavior and they seem to think that it is just that sometimes the RF may take longer than for other cavs to switch from high to low gain. The IOC that controls them IOCSE9 is in autogain and seems to be behaving normally, according to Jay. I sent them the log entries made by Victoria and Ezekiel and have not heard back yet. Anyway, it does not seem to be related to physical energy fluctuations, just electronics behavior (Jay).

Plans ahead

Production on 48Ca

Next week beam studies have been moved to Mon Sep 14 starting at 8m and estimated to last 8 hours. msonne and estimated to take 3 hours

If you would like to take an access on Monday, please let me know

Hall C will attempt a Moller measurement today if the beam returns before 2pm, if it does not, they will bail and go into production whenever the beam returns. If they do go for a Moller measurement they will switch the IHWP at some point for about one hour for systematic studies, then switch it back.

Hall C will go to 1-pass Thu or Fri next week and our run will end when they do

Don't forget to bring your list of auxilliary measurements you'd like done before the closing curtain at today's 3:30pm RC meeting

Notices

ABUs should be prorated if the MCC cannot deliver 150 uA

RC daily meeting at 3:30pm Bluejeans link : https://bluejeans.com/256205934
