[Halla_running] [New Logentry] RC Update -- Thursday morning

Accelerator lost power to the 4th pass separator yesterday afternoon.  That prevents beam recovery to Hall A until it is repaired.  The system experts reported they believe they have the parts and people ready to go and will be working on the faulty supply through Day shift.  Best case scenario would have beam back to Hall A sometime in Swing.  There are still a lot of unknowns though, so we plan to meet with the PD mid-afternoon to reassess.

Thursday Swing shift personnel should come in as planned for now, but stay tuned for updates.

The Hall is currently in Power Permit to allow detector checkout with the BB and SBS powered up.  We will be dropping back to Controlled Access this morning to allow GEM experts into the Hall.

We have been taking cosmics and LED pulser data overnight with combinations of BB and SBS powered up to assess the impact of fringe fields on the various sub-detectors.  

The GEM layer swap seems to have gone well yesterday.  There are 2 APV cards that have issues -- experts will work on that today.

Access to the Hall is permitted, but please check in with the RC and make a log entry about any work done.
